The Todd

Ladies and Gents, as you may recall from my first entry I am a pro at forming my own vocabulary (to get my tenure at Harvard) and wanted to share my latest term with the world, "Todd." Todd essentially means a guy who calls/texts/emails/etc even though you have not responded to him. Poor Todd just doesn't get the hint. It also refers to a guy who is a clueless jackass when it comes to women, and you need to throw this book in his face
...of course there's a back story for this terminology :):

So, I meet this random guy right before Xmas and I think he's really cool (I guess I had impaired judgment) and we decide to go out, so we went on one (only one!) date. We had lined up a second date but I knew I wasn't diggin him so I decided to be honest before that and let him down gently (the ole BS of "you're a great guy but...) kinda thing. Well he asked if we would still hang out as friends, and I said sure (again, dern impaired judgment!). Well, we hung out once as "friends" (only once) and that was more than enough. Apparently he was peeved at me for 'dumping' him because the whole entire time I was getting this strong pissed off vibe from his side of the table. On top of that, among his many other charming stories (he talked a lot and I was having a hard time getting a word in edgewise) he told me about his Chocolate Chip Cookie test. ...Now get this ladies. Apparently, he lays out all the ingredients to bake chocolate chip cookies along with the recipe, and tells you to make them. Why you may ask? So he can make sure you know how to follow directions. I couldn't make this stuff up if I tried. While he's telling me this, my brain is kind of freezing in shock whiole trying to process this, and all I kept thinking is how I would just laugh if a guy instructed me to make him cookies. And, if my Memaw were alive and I told her, she'd say something like "I'd tell him where he could stick his cookies!" On top of allll this charm (I know, the girls will be knocking down my door for his number) he informed me that I was supposed to pay for his dinner that night. That was a newsflash to me. I paid for my dinner, but I dont pay for dinners of people I barely know, wow. I decided after that that I really had enough Todd to last me a lifetime and from there on out have been ignoring him. That all took place in January, and he's still calling and texting me (even though I haven't responded) to this day...actually, he texted me last night. I guess he hasn't found his dream cookie girl yet.

Anyway ladies, stay away from the Todd but enjoy the catchphrase. If a guys a douche, he is being Todd. Some guys may be nice, but they might still have a Todd moment or Todd day. Use wisely. In efforts of not being sexist, I recognize that girls can be crazy too.
