Happy 90th

Time for a sappy post

Some of us (the very lucky ones) have a special person in our lives who changes us in ways that we can never explain and who teaches us more than we could ever comprehend until we are much older and it hits us that "wow, that person was always right." That person for me was my Memaw, which anyone whose been around me for more then 5 minutes has heard me mention. We lost her 2 years ago this February, but she's still very much here with me and with the family (she's nosey like that).

Basically, she was the best person I've ever known and we really connected. She was also funny as crap which I like to think I inherited from her :). I started the tradition of remembering her birthday somehow last year so I wanted to make sure to do that again, which is today when she would have been 90.

If I write about you it means I REALLY care about you, and well I've written several poems and stories about Memaw. The one I wrote in 2004 ended with these two lines...

My life will be lived-
To make you proud

I still hope to do that today.
